Schumer, a candidate for New York’s Democratic Senate nomination, said he will introduce legislation prohibiting banks in countries with impenetrable bank secrecy laws from trading in U.S. currency. Meanwhile, U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) said he will call for the creation of a commission headed by former President George Bush to re-evaluate U.S. counterterrorism strategy.
