The United States has not requested any passage rights through Israel to reach Jordan, nor have there been any communications between the United States and Israel concerning the American Sixth Fleet, Foreign Ministry officials said here today.

They were commenting on a statement by U.S. Secretary of the Army Wilbur Brucker who pointed out yesterday that in the event of aggression American troops could be in Jordan within three days; through the Gulf of Akaba; across Lebanon and Syria or across Israel.

Asked what Israel’s position was on over flights of planes carrying American troop to Jordan, the same Foreign Ministry officials refused comment, asserting that this was an hypothetical question which the Israel Government would have to answer if and when it arose.
