U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Ezra Taft Benson, who arrived for a four-day visit, met at dinner tonight with Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, Foreign Minister Golda Meir and Minister of Agriculture Moshe Dayan. The dinner took place at the home of U.S. Ambassador Ogden Reid in Ramat Gan. Earlier he met with Mr. Ben-Gurion separately.
Secretary Benson devoted the day to visiting a number of historical sites. He was accompanied by Ambassador Reid. He told reporters that the purpose of his visit here was to discuss agricultural trade problems, particularly its liberalization. He came to Israel after a tour of the countries of the European Common Market, Egypt and Jordan. From Israel he will go to Portugal.
