U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell dismissed Israeli suggestions that Yasser Arafat should be sent into exile. He spoke after Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said he had told world leaders worried about Arafat’s isolation that they could pluck him from Ramallah by helicopter. However, the Israeli leader said Arafat’s departure would have to be “a one-way ticket.”
