U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell said he told Egypt that it is “in the best interest of stability in the region” for Egypt to return its ambassador to Israel. Powell, testifying before the House International Relations Committee, said Egypt has been unwilling to do so, but hopes that the ambassador will return after violence ends in the region.
