U.S. Security Council to Discuss Israel-egyptian Situation Today

The Israel-Egyptian situation was reported by informed sources to be on the agenda of the National Security Council tomorrow when President Eisenhower’s top military advisers meet with him at Gettysburg, Pa. The meeting will actually take place 25 miles from Gettysburg proper at Camp David, the Presidential retreat in the Catoctin Mountains.

In addition to regular NSC members, those expected to participate include Admiral Arthur W. Radford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; Gen. Maxwell D. Taylor, Chief of Staff of the Army; Admiral Arleigh A. Burke, Chief of Naval Operations; Gen. Nathan F. Twining, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and Gen. Lemuel C. Shepherd, Commandant of the Marine Corps. The Secretary of Defense, Charles E. Wilson, is a regular member of the NSC and will be in attendance.
