A visa to go to America has been refused to Grand Duke Cyril of Russia by the French Government and American consular officials, according to a Paris cable to the New York “Times”.
The Grand Duke, who has been living in France since the revolution, was hotly opposed to the French recognition of the Soviets and announced his intention of “taking refuge in the only country which so far has not recognized the Soviets.” The so-called Czar has temporarily left Paris and taken refuge in Coburg, Germany.
The Grand Duchess arrived in Paris from Germany with a numerous suite, on her way to New York, for which she will sail Saturday to collect funds for Russian refugees. She was received by the Russian colony at the station with the full honor due an Empress.
