THE UNITED STATES WILL WITHHOLD JUDGMENT ON BRITAIN’S PLAN TO PARTITION PALESTINE UNTIL IT SEES “THE MANNER IN WHICH THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT PROPOSES TO IMPLEMENT THAT POLICY,” SECRETARY OF STATE CORDELL HULL DECLARED IN A LETTER TO THE JEWISH WAR VETERANS OF AMERICA, MADE PUBLIC HERE TODAY.

REPLYING TO A TELEGRAM JULY 8 ASKING MR. HULL TO INTERCEDE AGAINST PARTITION UNDER THE 1924 TREATY ACKNOWLEDGING THIS COUNTRY’S INTEREST IN PALESTINE, THE SECRETARY OF STATE DECLARED THAT PRIOR TO ITS RECEIPT “THE ATTENTION OF THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT HAD AGAIN BEEN DRAWN TO THE INTEREST AND CONCERN FELT IN THE PALESTINE QUESTION BY RAGE GROUPS OF AMERICA CITIZENS.”

“WE SHALL CONTINUE TO GIVE, AS WE HAVE GIVEN FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS, OUR FULL AND SYMPATHETIC CONSIDERATION TO ALL ASPECTS OF THE PALESTINE PROBLEM,” MR. HULL WROTE.
