The American people and Government “desire very strongly that Israel and its people prosper and enjoy a life, wherein the results of hard, honest work can be shared by all,” U.S. Charge d’Affaires William Baxter declared here today.
Mr. Baxter delivered his remarks at the opening, at ZOA House here, of a special exhibition, entitled “America and Tel Aviv,” tracing the role of Americans in the growth of the City of Tel Aviv during the 50 years since the city was established.
The exhibit shows contributions from American individuals, organizations, and the U.S. Government. There is a special section showing projects by the United States Operations Mission of special assistance to the development of Tel Aviv. Appreciation of the city for the contributions by America and Americans was expressed at the ceremony by Mayor Chaim Levanon, of Tel Aviv.
