The State Department today welcomed the Israeli Inner Cabinet’s decision to accept arbitration to resolve Israel’s border dispute with Egypt over Taba as an “important step” in Israeli-Egyptian relations.
“The U.S. remains ready to assist as both sides work to bring the Taba issue to a mutually satisfactory resolution,” State Department spokesman Bernard Kalb said.
