American Zionist leaders, who have arrived here from Basle en route home, were extremely sceptical today concerning reports that Dr. Weizmann might still be named president of the World Zionist Organization. Leon Gellman, president of the Mizrachi Organization in the United States, said that there was no possibility that Weizmann might emerge as head of the executive.
Daniel Frisch, chairman of the administrative committee of the Zionist Organization of America, told the JTA, however, that the U.S. Zionists do not feel that developments at the Congress have altered the possibility and probability of negotiating an agreement with the British Government. No administration, of whatever point of view, could have agreed to less than a viable Jewish state and been sustained by the Actions Committee or another Congress, he added.
