A resolution urging its members to seek the friendship of Arab students in their colleges was adopted at the annual convention of the Student Zionist Organization held here. More than 200 delegates from 44 campus chapters of the organization attended the convention. The SZO has chapters at 68 colleges throughout the country.

The Student Zionist Organization, which is sponsored by the American Zionist Council, represents all Zionist points of view on American campuses. Its purpose is to build bonds of friendship and understanding between the university communities of the United States and Israel. At a variety of workshop and plenary sessions during the convention, reports revealed that the organization had more than doubled its membership and the number of its constituent chapters in the preceding year. The convention elected Gilbert Kollin of Columbia and the Jewish Theological Seminary as national president of the organization.
