The 50th anniversary of the United Israel Appeal, the major beneficiary of the nationwide United Jewish Appeal, will be marked Dec. 12, at the New York Hilton, was announced by Melvin Dubinsky. UIA chairman. The luncheon meeting will honor the surviving members of the original leadership and present officers. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Israel Goldstein, one of the early leaders in the United Palestine Appeal, now a resident of Jerusalem. The UIA began in November, 1925 as the UPA, at the historic Baltimore Conference, launching the first coordinated American appeal to support the creation of a Jewish homeland in Palestine, immigration and absorption are still a primary responsibility of UIA.
