“What we need most to assure success for our efforts on behalf of Israel in the coming year in the United States, is a united American Jewish community without conflicts and controversies, ” Dr. Joseph Schwartz, executive vice-chairman of the United Jewish Appeal, declared today prior to his retrun to New York, after three days of consultation here.
“Premier David Ben Gurion and I found ourselves in perfect accord with regard to this vital question, “Dr. Schwartz continued. “We feel certain that there will be created great understanding and a favorable atmosphere for our 1954 United Jewish Appeal campaign.” Dr. Schwartz had four conferences with the Israel Premier and a number of conferences with other members of the Israel Cabinet.
