Thousands of Ukrainian peasants on their way home from church services today surrounded Jewish merchants holding their annual market day at Tlumaczyk, near Kolomea, beat them and robbed them of their provisions.
Police called to the scene arrested many of the peasants with booty they had snatched from the Jewish traders. Those taken in custody will be brought before the examining magistrate at Kolomea.
