The plea of large numbers of Agunoth, Jewish women who have lost track of their husbands in America, will be presented by Rabbi Jacob Tversky of the Ukraine, who sailed for New York on the Mauretania. It was stated that Rabbi Tversky is proceding to the United States in behalf of the rabbis of the Ukraine to arrange that the husbands of the Agunoth either grant them divorces or support them.
Gustav Blumenthal, prominent merchant of New York City, died Monday night. He was sixty-six years old Mr. Blumenthal was for more than forty years senior member of B. Blumenthal & Co. He retired seven years ago. At the time of his death he was president of the Pennant Pearl Button Company of New York and Muscatine, Iowa.
He was a member of the board of trustees of the Hebrew Technical School for Girls for many years and was active in charitable and communal work. He was also a member of the Harmonie Club and Hollywood Golf Club. His wife, Mrs. Carrie Mayer Blumenthal, a daughter, Mrs. Claire B. Bach, and a son, Robert G. Blumenthal, survire.
