An evening devoted to Russian Jewish literature was held last night in the October Palace of Culture in Kiev, under the auspices of the Union of Ukrainian Writers and the editorial board of Sovietish Heimland, the Government-sponsored Yiddish-language magazine. Novosti Press Agency reported from Kiev that the hall was filled to capacity and an overflow audience followed the proceedings by radio.
The Soviet agency said that the participants included Jewish, Ukrainian and Russian writers from Kiev and a group of Jewish writers and poets who came to Kiev from Moscow for the event.
