The strike committee of the Association of Master Painters and Decorators met in executive session Friday afternoon at its headquarters, 2 Park avenue, to consider the suggestion of Ben Golden, executive secretary of the Regional Labor Board to adopt a status quo which existed in the industry prior to the strike.
Nothing definite was accomplished, however, and Phillip H. Gladstone, vice-president of the Association and chairman of the committee, announced that announced that another meeting will be held soon.
Meanwhile the general strike committee of the District Council issued an order calling all 12,000 members out Monday morning at 6:30 o’clock, to picket vigorously all Association jobs.
It is pointed out that a settlement may soon be effected because August 15, beginning of the rush season, is rapidy approaching.
