The Administrative Committee of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations has decided to hold the 38th Council of the Union in New York, it was announced here today. The sessions of the Council will open on April 2 and will conclude on April 4.
“The convention, which will bring together delegates from the 310 Reform Congregations in the United States and Canada who are members of the Union, will be geared to war-time standards with emphasis upon a maximum of work and discussion and a complete absence of the usual social activities,” the announcement said.
Simultaneously, it was announced here today that after intensive preparation, a new monthly magazine, called “Liberal Judaism” will be published by the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. Rabbi Max E. Currick of Erie, Pa. has been named editor. The magazine, pocket-size in form, is intended for the laity and its policy will be to permit the expression of all sides of any question.
