The Union of Orthodox Jews of Czechoslovakia was today officially recognized by the Czech Government here as the representative body of all orthodox Jewish groups in Czechoslovakia-in-exile. It will receive a subsidy from the government to enable it to carry on its work.
A decree will be issued authorizing the Union to appoint one of its members as the official representative who will meet with various government officials in connection with the activities of Czech orthodox Jews. A meeting of the Union today elected Dr. O.R. Springer formerly of Prague to fill this post. He and Dr. Rosenbaum, from Bratislava, will direct the political affairs of the organization.
