The Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada today made public a statement protesting against the Joint Boycott Council for stationing pickets in front of the Agudas Israel headquarters with a view toward forcing the orthodox organization to discontinue acting as agent for sending private food parcels to Nazi-held territories.
Pointing out that the picketing is conducted with the intention “of weakening the relief activities for our Jewish brethren who are dying of starvation,” the Union of Orthodox Rabbis says in its statement that it “sees no crime in the work of saving Jewish lives from hunger.” Regret is expressed over the fact that the Council rejected arbitration before stationing its pickets.
