An appeal for unity among Jews in formulating demands for presentation to the ultimate peace conference was sounded here by Prof. Selig Brodetsky, newly-elected president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews.
Addressing the annual congress of the Order of Ancient Maccabeans, Prof. Brodetsky warned that it would be “utterly fatal if the farce of divided Jewish councils and warring Jewish voices at Versailles is repeated.”
Prof. Brodetsky asserted that the human race could not look for freedom, happiness and progress until “the deviltry which has been let loose in Berlin has been destroyed and the German people have been made to realize that they could have liberty and happiness only if they allowed others to have liberty and happiness also.”
