The American Jewish Congress boycott committee has addressed a letter to Samuel Untermyer, president of the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League to Champion Human Rights, calling for coordination of boycott activities of the two organizations, it was announced yesterday.
The request for a united front was made after a decision reached by the A.J.C. boycott committee. The letter was signed by Dr. Joseph Tenenbaum, chairman.
The letter emphasized that the break-down of the boycott movement in Poland placed an additional responsibility on anti-Nazi forces in the United States.
“It is greatly to be deplored,” the letter said, “that after two years of intensive boycott work, the country at large, outside of New York, is totally disorganized.
“I personally have felt from the outset that we cannot afford to split our forces, especially in view of the extensive resources of the German government and the lukewarm response of the non-Jewish population of the United States.”
