The United Nations Palestine Conciliation Commission, which adjourned its last session in New York on Dec. 9, 1949, will reconvene here tomorrow. Among the subjects on the Commission’s agenda are the question of compensation for Palestine Arab displaced persons and an Arab proposal that the Commission should begin “active mediation.”
(The London Daily Telegraph reported during the week-end that Sir Dosmond Morton, British member of the U.N. Economic Survey Mission, addressing a meeting of the Royal Central Asian Society, declared that a “strong, unpopular odor surrounds the United Nations in the Middle East. The Conciliation Commission is regarded as a body which betrayed both the Arabs and Jews,” he was reported to have added.)
