The Hartford community opened its drive for the United Palestine Appeal at a meeting in Temple Emanuel, at which $10,000 was raised. Among those present were Messrs. Paul Discount, Morris Zeplowitz. J. Schwolsky, Joseph Gelman, Abraham Nevelstein, Mintz, Levin, Tomares-Bernstein. Nathan Promisle, Neiditz and Umansky.
More than two hundred and fifty persons attended the meeting which was presided over by Abraham Goldstein and by Samuel Hoffenberg, chairman of the local drive. Addresses were delivered by Rabbi Morris Silverman and Rabbi A. J. Feldman. The drive is scheduled to run for two weeks.
