Washington will launch its campaign for the United Palestine Appeal on Sunday, April 25th, when Chaim Nachman Bialik. and Louis Lipsky, President of the Zionist Organization of America, will be the guests of honor at a special function.
Washington has accepted a quota of $50,000 for this year’s campaign. All Jewish organizations in Washington have signified their willingness to cooperate.
The Hadassah Organization will be represented in the campaign by over 200 workers comprising 25 teams. Mrs. John M. Safer heads the Women’s Division and Mr. Louis E. Spiegier heads the Men’s Division.
In addition to the many agencies represented in the United Palestine Appeal, the Poalei Zion and Workingmen’s groups, who are interested in the Gewerkshaften, will be merged in this campaign.
Campaign headquarters have been established at the Jewish Community Center. The Chairman of the Campaign is Mr. Isidore Hirshfield. A banquet on May 5th will conclude the campaign.
