The unity between Jews and Poles in the fight for a free Poland was emphasized today at a memorial meeting here attended by Jewish and Polish leaders in honor of the late Prof. Moses Schorr, Chief Rabbi of Poland, who died in Soviet Russia early last July.
Chief Rabbi Hertz stressed Prof. Schorr’s achievements as a scholar and the leader of the largest Jewish community in Europe. Stanislaw Stronski, Polish Minister of Information, declared that “Schorr will be missed when the fate of a new Poland is shaped.”
