The unity in the ranks of American Jewry was cited here today as an example for the Jews of Britain, where a serious split has developed after the decision of the Board of Deputies of British Jews not to renew its agreement with the Anglo-Jewish Association.
Insisting that “a policy must be hammered out which should be acceptable to all sections of the Jewish community in Britain,” Councillor A. Moss told Jewish leaders in London to take a lesson from the Jews of America. He agreed that the Board of Deputies should be given full responsibility for the work in behalf of oppressed Jews in other countries, but expressed the hope that the Anglo-Jewish Association which has been working in this field for many years will be enabled to lend its knowledge and experience to the foreign affairs committee of the Board in order to avoid a schism in Jewish activities in England.
