THE FOURTEENTH INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF THE UNIVERSITIES’ FEDERATION FOR THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS ADOPTED A RESOLUTION TODAY OPPOSING THE TRANSFORMING OF UNIVERSITIES INTO CENTERS OF RACIAL PROPAGANDA WHICH “ON ONE HAND IS CONTRARY TO THE PRINCIPLES OF THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS AND ON THE OTHER HAND OPPOSED TO THE SPIRIT OF UNIVERSITY EDUCATION.”
THE RESOLUTION ORIGINALLY INTRODUCED BY DANIEL SHER, PALESTINIAN DELEGATE, PROTESTED SPECIFICALLY AGAINST ANTI-JEWISH PERSECUTION IN POLISH AND RUMANIAN UNIVERSITIES, BUT DELEGATES FROM POLAND AND RUMANIA THREATENED TO LEAVE THE CONGRESS IF THE RESOLUTION WAS DISCUSSED, REGARDING IT AS AN INSULT TO THEIR NATIONS AND INTERFERENCE IN INTERNAL POLITICAL MATTERS.
