Jewish students at the University of Vienna are deprived of their political, cultural and material rights as the result of a new decree by the university authorities which gives the anti-Semitic German student body the sole right to be the official students’ representatives and stipulates that the qualification for membership is not Austrian citizenship but an avowal that one belongs to the German people and speaks the German language.

The Liberal and Social Democrat press is protesting vigorously against this decree and have given notice that the matter will be brought up in Parliament and court action will be taken because the decree also operates against free-thinkers and Socialist students.
