The organization of Greek-letter fraternities and sororities at the University of Colorado at Boulder has adopted a resolution condemning the act of four C. U. students in taunting five Jewish girls about their religion. The incident occurred in a restaurant off the campus.
The resolution also called upon the university authorities to take proper disciplinary action. The incident was brought to light by the campus newspaper which editorially condemned the perpetrators and called for their punishment. They have not yet been identified.
The Greek-letter group condemned the “outright act of slander and bigotry” and asserted it “represents an attack on human dignity and has undermined the democratic spirit which we believe has long prevailed on this campus.” It expressed hope that “no more occurrences of this sort will take place.” Rabbi Abraham Zemach, Hillel director, described the incident as an isolated case.
