The new University of Sussex will launch an extensive investigation into the causes of the Nazi mass murder of 6,000,000 Jews during the Second World War as part of a research project on the nature of human cruelty and destructiveness.
The project, which is being financed by an $840,000 grant from the Columbus Trust, was announced by Harold Lever, one of the Trust’s officers. Mr. Lever said that in the course of the project, the University will conduct research into more than 100 years of German history.
