A Department of Hebrew Studies will be established by the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in the fall of 1961.
Dr. J. Martin Klotsche, University provost, said establishment of the department has been assisted by a pledge of the Wisconsin Society for Jewish Learning to provide $50, 000 for the project.
The department is expected to be similar to that in the University at Madison, which is the graduate school level.
