Obligatory enlistment for military training of all unmarried teachers in the Palestine Hebrew School system, between the ages of 20 and 30, was decided upon today by the Jewish Board of Education, which is a part of the Jewish National Council.
Simultaneously it was announced today that more than 1150 Jewish young man who had undergone military training in special camps during May and June have enlisted in the army to serve in the infantry and in transport units.
The Soldiers’ Welfare Committee together with the Jewish National Council announced today further steps to improve the condition of families of those in the service. Free medical aid will be provided for those families where the monthly income is below six pound sterling.
