A bomb was thrown by Arab terrorists at a police station in Haifa, target of many similar attacks. A passing Arab woman was wounded in the explosion. Many shots were fired in the tense Hatiqvah quarter of Jaffa, scene of frequent clashes during the 1936 disorders.
Haaretz, Hebrew daily, was suspended for one week by the authorities.
