The United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration has agreed to release, temporarily, a number of its staff members to work for the Joint Distribution Committee in France, Italy and in the liberated Balkan countries, it was reported today by Dr. Joseph Schwartz, European Director of the J.D.C., upon his arrival here to confer on the establishment of J.D.C. offices in Rumania and Bulgaria.
Dr. Schwartz met today with the directors of the Intergovernmental Committee for Refugees which is cooperating with the J.D.C. in sending aid to Jews in Hungary, Northern Italy and other European countries. He also discussed various plans for coordinated relief activities with leaders of the Central British Fund for Jewish Relief and the Jewish Colonization Association.
