Upon their return from an emergency fact-finding mission, the 20 members of the United Jewish Appeal’s Cash Mission unanimously pledged to meet “the cash needs of the people of Israel now.” by achieving a national cash goal of $100 million. Following an intensive nine-day study of the social and economic problems of the people of Israel, the UJA Cash Mission returned to their home communities prepared to accelerate their local fund-raising efforts for cash as well as completing their overall campaigns as part of an historic national closing date on June 6.
