The Congregation Temple of Israel celebrated its 60th anniversary in ceremonies here recently.
Speakers included Rabbi Philip S. Bernstein, of Rochester, who discussed “How Shall the Jew Face the World?”; the Rev. Frank T. Rhoad, of the Second Presbyterian Church of Troy; David Wasserman, president of the congregation, and Rabbi Leo Shubow, spiritual leader of the Temple.
Rabbi Stephen S. Wise of the Free Synagogue, New York City, spoke at services held in the church Sunday. His subject was “Hitlerism, a Challenge to Civilization.”
