May Day proclamations by Communist groups demand “the wholesale amnesty of those convicted from events growing out of the August revolt, the cancellation of all death sentences, the cancellation of the collective punishments, the immediate evacuation of British troops, the abolition of the Balfour Declaration and the Palestine Mandate, the rescinding of the Dead Sea and Rutenberg concessions,” and also a call to the fellaheen and bedouins to “arm themselves and revolt.”
The General Federation of Jewish Labor has proclaimed a general strike throughout the country for May 1 on which day meetings and concerts will be held. Last week the Federation warned members of the Federation not to participate in unauthorized. May 1 demonstrations for fear that it might lead to provocative incidents.
