Dr. Shani Ladany, a surviving member of Israel’s 1972 Olympic team, urged tonight that Egypt be banned from future Olympic competition for assisting three Arabs in the Black September terrorist gang that took part in the Munich massacre.
Addressing a public meeting of the Zionist Organization of America’s Greater Roslyn District at Temple Beth Sholom here, Dr. Ladany said that if the International Olympic Committee (IOC) does not oust Egypt, “future Olympic Games run the danger of being flooded with additional crimes against athletes to draw attention to political causes.” He also said Libya should be banned from the Olympics for giving terrorists a $5 million “gift.”
