Satisfaction with the deliberations was expressed by Dr. Leo Motzkin, chairman, in closing the meeting of the Zionist Actions Committee. He declared himself convinced that the meeting would be fruitful and he was glad that the entire agenda had been disposed of. Dr. Motzkin gave vent to the hope that when the members returned to their respective countries they would do so with fresh vigor and renewed endeavors.
Dr. Chaim Weizmann in reviewing the general situation said that the Zionists must emerge from the Actions Committee meeting with a larger program. He hoped that all Zionists would do their utmost to exercise every possible influence on the Jewish public to keep it firm and of good courage. As for himself and the Zionist Executive, Dr. Weizmann declared that they “would not relax and would firmly adhere to the principles of Zionism and the ideals embodied in the policy of the establishment of the Jewish National Home but the Executive must have the inspired enthusiasm of the whole movement.”
He concluded with an appeal to Zionist workers to bear in mind the shekel. The Council adopted resolutions on the recommendations submitted by the political commission after statements made by Harry Sacher and Prof. Selig Brodetsky. Resolutions urging the strengthening of the Zionists organizations through the sale of shekels were also adopted.
