A proposal that Great Britain and France join in settling the Palestine problem was put forward in the Times today by Sir Arnold Wilson, Conservative M.P., author and editor of the “Nineteenth Century.”

Sir Arnold suggests a settlement embracing Syria and comprising all the territory from the frontier of Turkey to Egypt, declaring there is room in that area for three Arab states, a Christian and a Jewish state. Arabs, he asserts, will enjoy political predominance while Jews will have autonomy in the respective Arab areas under Anglo-French guarantee.
