Urges Jews to Unite Against Discrimination

The Jewish Congregation of Tarrytown, N.Y., receives $2,000 by the will of Mire Goldman of North Tarrytown, N. Y., who died Nov. 25, 1931, leaving an estate of $78,000 net.

Action to counteract the economic discrimination from which the Jewish population suffers is urged by the “Yiddish Stimme.”

The Jewish population of Lithuania is suffering from the economic crisis no less than the non-Jewish populace. In addition to this its position is aggra#ed by attacks upon the working Jewish population coupled with a press incitement which demands the expulsion of the Jews from their acquired economic positions, the paper asserts.

Quietly, but effectively, the Jews are being pushed out of trades and professions, according to the paper.

It therefore demands a counter movement headed by intellectuals for the purpose of assisting Jewish artisans, traders and shop-keepers.
