Uri Lupolianski became the first fervently Orthodox man elected mayor of Jerusalem. Lupolianski, who has served as acting mayor since February, took 52 percent of the vote in Tuesday’s municipal elections, beating millionaire businessman Nir Barkat, who received 43 percent. In his victory speech, Lupolianski said he considered himself the mayor of all the capital’s residents.
