A message calling for support of the majority UNSCOP proposals on Palestine at the current session of the U.N. General Assembly has been sent to the governments of Argentina, Chile and Cuba by a number of prominent Uruguayan statesmen, educators and cultural leaders.
Also signed by ex-President Jose Serrata, former Vice-President Hector Gerona and former Foreign Secretary Eduardo Rodriguez Larreta, the message asked unanimous action on Palestine by the nations of the American continent in the name of “human rights.” The message was sent under the auspices of the Uruguayan Pro-Palestine Committee.
