Joseph Sprinzak, Speaker of the Israel Parliament, will come here to launch the 1950 campaign of the United Israel Appeal in the latter half of May, it was announced today. The Israel leader will also launch the fund-raising drive for Israel in Argentina.
The opening of the new building housing the Shalom Aleichem school here–erected at a cost of $200,000–was marked by the local Jewish community at impressive dedication ceremonies. Government and municipal officials, as well as leaders of the Jewish community in this city, participated in the exercises. The school, offering courses in Hebrew and Yiddish, can now accommodate 600 students.
