A $1,000,000 company has been formed here by a group of leading Jewish industrialists for the purpose of investing in housing enterprises in Israel, it was reported today. Shares of this company will be sold to hundreds of Jewish merchants and industrialists throughout Uruguay.
The Israeli Consulate here reported increasing tourist traffic from this country to the Jewish state. Since the consulate’s opening, more than 300 tourist visas have been issued to Uruguayan citizens, while a larger number of immigrant visas have been granted to Jewish families here who have liquidated their Uruguayan holdings and proceeded to Israel for permanent settlement.
