An appeal to Prime Minister Attlee and President Truman to reach an agreement which will permit increased Jewish immigration to Palestine has been cabled by the Jewish community here to Washington, where the two Allied heads are meeting.
Citing the Jews’ “historic claim” to Palestine, their contribution to the war effort and the continued anti-Semitism in Europe and the Middle East, the appeal pointed out that the ruding party in both the United States and Britain have pledged to support a Jewish national home in Palestine.
