The President of Uruguay, Dr. Juan Jose Amezaga, expressed interest in the possibilities for immigration of Jewish children from Europe, in an interview with representatives of the Congress of Polish Jews in South America, which concluded its fourth convention here last week.
President Amezaga declared that it would be to his country’s interests to admit a number of these children. He asked for further information on the member who could be brought to Uruguay, who would pay their passage from Europe, and who would support them after their arrival.
