The Jewish National Council, representative body of Palestine Jewry, issued today a communique declaring that Jews now in the Holy Land illegally have been subjected to “inhuman suffering.”
The statement followed the surprising of the council’s session last night by 300 illegal immigrants, who demanded that action be taken to have their status legalized. They complained that many were separated from their families for as much as four years and could not have their relatives brought here despite the fact they had secure positions.
Some of them said that although they employed many workers they were not permitted to bring their relatives into the country.
